FAQs

Currently, we only fit below-knee leg prosthetics.

The Hope To Walk below-knee prosthetic costs just $250, 1/100th of the cost of a traditional US-made prosthetic leg. Each prosthetic leg is donated and fitted FREE to an amputee in the developing world. Although the leg itself is inexpensive compared to commercial prosthetics, there is significant cost involved in operating our nonprofit and clinics with highly trained staff, international travel, etc. We are so grateful to our generous donors who make Hope To Walk's mission possible!

Hope To Walk has prosthetic clinics in Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Tanzania, and Vietnam. If you need a prosthetic leg in one of those countries, you can email info@hopetowalk.org for more information.

Unfortunately, no. Our prosthetic does not have FDA approval, so we cannot use it in the United States. Please contact Amputee Coalition at amputee-coalition.org for help in the USA.

If you need a below-knee prosthetic and can travel to one of the countries we currently serve, we can try to help you. Contact info@hopetowalk.org for more information.

There is an incredible need for prosthetics worldwide - an estimated 53 million people need prosthetic devices but do not have access due to cost. Hope To Walk is currently centralizing operations, including international training in Guatemala, while innovating ways to expand our international "footprint." Contact us for more information on how you can start a Hope To Walk clinic in your area.

Yes! We use parts from used prosthetics for patients in developing countries who have commercial prosthetic legs that are in need of repair. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation of a used prosthetic, please email info@hopetowalk.org for more information. Learn more

Yes! When you click on our Donate button, you will be given the option to honor or memorialize someone. We can also notify the person if you wish.

For a donation of $250 or more, we will inscribe a name of your choice (your own, your organization, someone you want to honor or memorialize) on the foot of a Hope To Walk prosthetic. When that leg is fitted, you will receive pictures and information about the patient. Learn more
