Rigoberto Paguada Hernández

The sweet man you are looking at is 54-year-old Rigoberto Paguada Hernandez. He lives with his sister and daughter in Guadalupe, Honduras. Being diabetic, he had an infected ulcer on his left leg and had to have it amputated 8 years ago. Infection spread further in his other leg, and he lost his right leg one year and a half ago. Rigoberto is now a bilateral amputee who was previously confined to a wheelchair before receiving two Hope to Walk legs. But he did not let that not stop him from preaching the Word of God! Even without legs, Rigoberto went house-to-house sharing the Gospel with both friends and strangers. He also worked at a shoe store before losing both his legs, and he now is a shoe shiner. He believes that he will be able to reach even more houses and get more business with his two prosthetic legs.

Rigoberto is truly an amazing man of God. His sincere heart for God and people impacted many at the Hope to Walk clinic. Rigoberto spoke about how He sees God’s goodness everywhere, from a stranger offering to wheel him up a hill to someone buying him dinner. He even shares what little he has with others, trusting that God will provide always. Oftentimes, you find that those you think you are blessing end up blessing you. We pray that Rigoberto’s story has done just that, and we thank you for your gracious donation.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, ‘Your God reigns.’ ” – Isaiah 52:7
