First and foremost let me open by saying I am just a sinner saved by the grace of God. I love my wife and family and wish to be the best husband and father that I can possibly be and need to constantly continue to seek God’s help in doing so. I was blessed to be born into a hardworking blue collar Christian family. I learned the value of hard work at the age of twelve when I begged my grandfather to let me work on the family farm pulling weeds in the onion fields every summer. I have been entrepreneurial minded as long as I can remember and have always felt that I looked at things differently than others. I currently own a business that focuses on the needs of commercial property owners in relation to taking care of their facilities.
I have for many years tried to help people learn how to help themselves to better their lives by showing them different opportunities, tools, options and giving them first steps in the right direction. I prayed to God to give me a passion and show me where and how to use it after my wife went on her first mission trip. When she came home she encouraged me to go along the next year. I reluctantly agreed and when the next trip came along it was clear to me that God wanted me to have a more global mind in helping others. In the first year since that trip I have returned a half dozen times by myself starting several projects to help the people I met.
It is on one of my return trips to Honduras that I learned of Hope to Walk and the work they are doing. My mind started to race with the life changing possibilities that are being offered to people and how this is so badly needed by many people the world over. Most of these amputee patients have little hope for a better life and by giving them a prosthetic leg and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, they can have a new beginning.
