Phil

Phil Johnson – Founder

Phil has over 34 years of prosthetic and orthotic experience.  He is an inventor with many skills and a passion for training others which places him in the perfect spot to lead Hope To Walk to train the nations how to make affordable prosthetics.  He has served on a dozen mission trips and has dedicated the rest of his life to helping those in need.

Michael Mabry

Michael Mabry – Chairman

Michael is a founder and Chairman of HTW. He founded HTW in his first year of medical school and is now a 4th year medical student at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. His passion to serve while empowering people to help themselves, is a powerful catalyst to help guide the organization to success. He serves as a Spanish translator and lead researcher for HTW and recently received the 2016 Excellence in Public Health Award from the U.S. Public Health Service as well as the Osteopathic Student of the Year award from his college.

Dr Xiomara

Dr. Xiomara MD – Board Member

Dr. Erazo, MD has been a part of our Hope To Walk family for almost 4 years now and is an important member of our team. She was born and raised in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, in a family with a mother and brother. Her brother had asthma and there was not enough resources for him to receive proper medical care. After witnessing her brother in need, she grew up wanting to be a doctor to help others in need. She worked hard and her dream came true and started medical school at the National University in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. After graduation she couldn’t afford to go into a residency program and started working as a General Practitioner in a local hospital. She soon was married and later had 3 beautiful children.

Corydon Siffring MD – Board Member

Cory has been a trauma surgeon for over 25 years and has spent much of his life serving patients from the USA to Uganda to Afghanistan.  He served in the US Army for 22 years and retired as a Colonel.  While serving overseas he treated our soldiers, but also won the hearts of civilians with the level of care he provided.  His heart is empowering communities to develop sustainable solutions. His medical and leadership background and his heart for equipping others to help themselves, makes him a strong board member to lead HTW to become a prosthetic industry innovator around the world.

Loy Burch – Board Member

Loy grew up at Espanola, New Mexico, holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from Eastern New Mexico University.  He and his wife have been involved in mission work in Honduras for over 30 years. He presently serves on the Board of Directors at the Baxter Institute, a four year Bible College and Medical Clinic in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.  Baxter is having a great impact on all Latin countries with students from eleven nations.  These students come from their home countries to study the Bible for 4 years and after graduation, return to their nations to serve others.  This school is also the site of the clinic where Hope To Walk is based.

Terry Smith Bio Pic

Terry Smith – Board Member

Terry was born in Sioux Falls, SD but spent most of his youth living in New Orleans, LA. He would later move to Memphis, TN and obtain a degree from The University of Memphis. This is also where he would meet his wife, Debbie. Terry spent 30 years in retail management while his wife completed her education and worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Throughout this time he always had a passion for building and serving others. He has been blessed with the opportunity to travel with his church and other groups on mission trips to use his abilities to give back to those in need. He has helped construct churches in Mexico, ramps for families with special needs in Charlotte, and beds for children in Guatemala.

Donnie Anderson

Donnie Anderson – Board Member

Donnie Anderson is as unique a person as one can meet. After completing high school, he did a term in the Navy training as a Nuclear Engineer.  He received his BS in Biology, minors in Chemistry, Physics, and Physical Sciences, with honors, from TWU in Fort Worth, TX in 1998, following up with graduate work in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UNTHSC. Working his way through college doing trim carpentry, his business became quite successful and he abandoned the idea of medical school and got into construction.

Ken Jones – Board Member

Ken is a retired family physician who received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia (MCV). Ken’s family practice residency was in a unique program conceived by MCV with the goal of equipping family physicians to serve effectively in rural areas without hospital facilities.

Rob Luffman – Board Treasurer

Rob is a certified management accountant and is the CFO of Gracetree Investments. He serves as Hope to Walks Board Treasurer to maintain accountability and transparency of the team’s endeavors. His career and personal values are woven together with charitable work and philanthropy. He is committed to helping steer the organization to leverage their resource to make a global impact.

Todd Potgeter

Todd Potgeter – Board Member

Todd is one of our most recent board members to join the Hope to Walk board.  He has a huge heart to empower others around the world and is always seeking of ways to love others well.  He has been an entrepreneur for his whole life – from working pulling weeds on the farm to working in the real estate sector. He is an excellent addition to the HTW board and desires to move the ministry forward.
